Year One had a wonderful visit to Chatteris Museum this week. On the way there, the children were thrilled to see a Halloween decorated house! We have been learning all about the history of Chatteris and have looked at lots of old photos of the town, streets and even school! The children were so excited to visit the museum. We listened to a talk about Chatteris in the past, looked at lots of old items such as the top of an old axe, an old clay fire lamp, a chamber pot, a fire blower and learnt how people used to wash and dry their clothes. We all had to be very careful when holding/touching everything. There was a very old record player in the museum and we had the opportunity to listen to some music from the past. It was great to have our lovely parent helpers too; thank you so much for coming!
