Intent

PSHE is at the heart of our core values at Kingsfield. We believe it is integral to the development of children’s values to enable them to become a positive member of society in a forever changing world. Our PSHE curriculum is accessible to all and aims to maximise the outcomes for every child so that they know how to play a positive and successful role within our society, both as a child and as an adult within the future.

Implementation

PSHE is an embedded part of our curriculum. Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, mental and cultural development is at the heart of our school ethos. British Values are promoted through the overarching aims and objectives of PSHE by supporting our children to become healthy and responsible members of the society in which they live.

Enrichment

Throughout the year our children take part in a range of national events such as anti-bullying week and personal safety week. These events enrich our curriculum as children develop and embed their knowledge and skills. Visits and visitors, such as the local emergency services, further complement our curriculum and allow children to develop an understanding of the community around them.

Outcomes

Our intention is that, when children leave Kingsfield, they do so with the knowledge, understanding and emotions to be able to play an active role in today’s society. They know how to be healthy, independent and responsible members of society. The spiritual, moral, social, mental and cultural development of our pupils ensures they are prepared for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences in the next stage of their lives.
